Do convening need to be one time events or can they be support over time?
Allison Billings
45:24
I would love to know if these are grants you've funded before. If so, what are some great examples of success? I'm particularly interested in how the regional efforts across school districts have succeeded?
Jerri
46:42
Can the region be a group of districts that have been working together but aren't contiguous?
Val Gallina
46:53
Must we subscribe to a SELor character "program"?

We are an education service center (ESC) representing 35+ districts in the Austin Texas area. Do we count as the LEA or should we attempt to invite specific districts in our region?
Caitlin Small
47:32
In order for school districts to be considered part of the 25,000 students served, do they need to partner applicants on the grant, or could they receive a sub-grant?
Sabrina Uribe Ruggiero
47:53
Can students be to the target audiance for the convenings? For example, a For Students, By Students convening?
Regina Riley
48:25
@Allison - This is the first time we've funded these grants.
Gabrielle Siroonian

I know that impacting 25k students is a priority not a requirement for this opportunity, but would the fund provide a grant to a grantee (and partners) that is collectively impacting a smaller amount of students? Or are you looking to fund grantees that are generally in this range?
Caitlin Small
49:42
To follow up on Flynn's question, can grant funds be used to support something like a PLC, or funds only for one "event"?

As a funder, are you targeting urban locations considering size of district requirement? e.g. Milwaukee has 78,000 public school students in the district, including district, charter students (about 7000)What would success look like for each grantee for the event? For the plan, for after the event?

Hi! My name is Rebecca, I work with Global Game Changers in Louisville, Kentucky. We are an educational non-profit. The local public school district serves over 100,000 alone, but there are also independent and private/parochial schools within the Metro area serving even more students. I have two questions: 1) Can we (as an educational non-profit) be a lead partner? 2) Would a convening of all the school types within this large urban area be considered “regional?”

Does NoVo have an indirect policy? If so, can you please send me a link to this policy?
Antonio Gomez

We are an arts nonprofit engaged in SEL work for 10yrs and a three-district partnership for 25+. Are we eligible as an LEA, or would one of the districts need to apply?
Amy Quinn
53:36
You mentioned hosting “SEL in Action” Convenings in the past. When you reflect on those convenings, what are some of the factors that led to successful outcomes?
Regina Riley
55:34
@PFreeman - Not sure the ESC counts as an LEA. But would want to make sure that districts from your ESC sign on, if you are the lead partner. Does that help?

what about participant travel/lodging etc.
Flynn Ross
59:07
with the multiple audiences could we have multiple strands for different constituents?

Does Education First have a working definition of SEL and Equity? I see the questions are asking these of the applicants?
Celia Swanson
01:01:44
Do you have a definition of Equity that you use when establishing a focus for the convenings?
Val Gallina

So we are a tech college looking to help our districts work through SEL. Looking to be applicant convener across types of school districts - do you have example of previously funded convenings that you can connect us to?
